ÄDELHOLM 2023: WEEK 31

2023-08-08, sow +122 days, 1404 degree-days_base3, 267.4 mm rainfall.
RAIN
78 mm in the last two days. I’m guessing that there is no soil moisture deficit anymore.
WEEDS
Found this nasty thing, thanks to a post on NBRs Facebook. Velvet leaf (Lindmalva) is something there is concern about in the industry, and thus the NBR post. I’m pretty confident I only noticed it because I’d seen the NBR Facebook post the previous day.

Lots of black nightshade (nattskatta) and wire weed (trampört) in the western end of the field.
BOLTERS
Total bolters are now at 29 individuals and 9 patches of weed beets. It might only be 4 or 5 patches that have been re-visited. Vernalisation hours are only around 75 (see this post) – well below the 120 initial critical level that would warn of issues with bolters. The variety at Ädelholm in 2023 is Fabienna, which is mid-sensitive variety, which has a critical level of 130 hours. 4.5 bolters per hectare is very low, given it considered a problem when 200 / ha is reached.
FOLIAR DISEASES
Still not able to find anything, but definitely expecting.
UPDATE: Crop sprayed with 0.6 l/ha Comet Pro, the morning of 2023-08-16.
